Hainan province is an island area located at the very south peak of the mainland of China. Due to its beautiful sea view, strong sunshine, excellent beach and soft climate, it turns out to be one of the most attractive and popular place for vacation and holiday. This project aims to create a holiday living community by the water front of the inner bay called Lao Ye Sea.

In terms of the starting point of the project, geographical index analysis and climate study come to be the orientation and reference for the urban and landscape design. For geographical research aspect, hills as the predominant topography play very important role in the way of view quality and rainwater runoff scenarios. In terms of climate, rain quantity, wind, temperature and sunshine are all factors that would affect urban, landscape and architecture design. By using parametric tools and method to analysis and simulate these elements, these characteristics are layered to be orientation for design and design comes to meet the problems showing up from research and strengthen the advantages of the site.

Finally, house, villa, lowrise apartment and highrise apartment are all exerted on the site to diversy the community living envrionment and optimize the sea view quality. Water sensitive landscape system is designed to deal with drainage system to fight with strong rainwater and up-and-down geography. This is a experiment project by using parametric methodology instead of traditional way and process to do urban and landscape design.
